The Department of Social Policy Affairs deals with issues relating to grants and subsidies as well as gender and diversity. It therefore deals with all aspects of social life, from work, housing and children alongside studies to issues of equal treatment.

So if you have financial difficulties due to your social or family situation, you can find appropriate support here. Of course, this also applies to students without Austrian/EEA citizenship, second-chance students and people who are interested in studying. This department also takes care of students with physical or mental disabilities, from supporting them to enforcing their rights to equal treatment.

Here you can find more information on funding, support, etc. for you.

Unit members talk about their work

Esraa Abd Rabou (current speaker):

"In this role, I advocate for the social concerns of students, work on topics such as assistance, funding, gender and diversity and support students with financial and family challenges during their studies."

Lukas Rohatsch (former speaker):

"As a consultant for socio-political matters, students turn to me with questions about grants and financial aid. In cases of hardship, I make contact with the relevant contact points and can draw on the network of the ÖH Federal Representation. I also take care of putting together the semester packs for our new first-semester students every year and often work with the Center for International Relations on gender and diversity issues."

Eva-Maria Web (former speaker):

"As the Social Policy Officer, it is my job to be a point of contact for students with financial problems and to advise them. It is also my job to work towards making everyday student life more inclusive for everyone and to take action against all forms of discrimination."
