The department for educational policy and affairs concerning student rights is the address to go to if you have a question about your rights and responsibilities, as well as the lecturers’ duties. For example, you can contact this department and ask for help if there is an exam or grading that seems to be unfair. Here you will get advice concerning laws and precedents as well as assistance to assert your rights.

Beside of that, this department concerns itself with quality assurance on the UAS, to do so it is present in several committees. This involves working out new content in examination regulations and statutes of the UAS Technikum Wien. The coordination of ÖH-elections and communication with the electoral board also falls within its purview.

Andreas Lehner (former head of department):

“As person to contact for cases concerning students’ rights, I get emails and phone calls on a regular basis: Be it questions concerning disagreements in courses with teachers or heads of departments. Besides that, I am a member of the UAS council and several workgroups. Additionally, I partake on regular meetings with the ombudsperson of the UAS to discuss problems of students and find solutions for them.”
